We spend hours each day in our inbox (or inboxes in many cases); working, having conversations, and entertaining ourselves. If your marketing plan doesn’t include email, it has a gigantic hole in it.
I laughed at the coupon part because yes. Someone gives you access to one of the most crowded places in their life, and the response is immediately: GREAT, LET’S ABUSE IT.
There was this one time when NFTs were all the rage, and I watched this CEO subscribe to an NFT guru. I kid you not: seven to nine emails a day.
And most of them included selfies of this nerdy-looking fella.
The marketing worked, right? I still remember the guy four years later.
Because I got pulled into marketing by being caught and dragged in through a side window, I still think most marketers see some new communication method and immediately think: how can we twist this great new thing into making money for my company before we get too annoying and people start to ignore us because a new thing will be ready by then to fuck up; er, utilize to create true business value through customer exploita, er, communication and feedback.
Have a fantastic Friday afternoon and evening, Neela.

yah think lol
I suspect half of modern marketing is just asking how much irritation the channel can tolerate before conversion drops. Thank you Bryant.
Same to you as well
Uh-huh- this "We love email.
We also love to bitch about email"
It was the best of technologies; it was the worst of technologies.
ah, well, shit -- that could've been a fun opener.
Too late now. Dickens gets the sequel.
