Of course there are actual and real pros and cons, but you really can drive yourself nuts and feel like you're doing "real work for the future" by avoiding doing anything today writing out your pros and cons of each and staying stuck at 0.
I avoid writing about a selection process because claude/GPT can do that for you almost as well as a human could -- that and there are tons of those out there already. Don't mind swimming upstream, but not when the bears are 99.9% likely to eat me anyway. :)
